We need help to bring our dad home from China so that he can be at peace with his loved ones,
Auckland
We have lost our dad and husband so suddenly while he was on Holiday in China. He died on the 4th August and is still lying alone in a Bejing Mortuary. This is an incredibly horrific time for his family with not only having to deal with his sudden loss but also having to deal with a foreign country in attempts to get him home quickly. He was a great man and deserves so much more respect. We need to bring him home so that his family and friends can grieve beside him. We need to bring him home so that his soul can be at peace. Please help us to bring our dad, husband, grandad, brother, cousin, uncle and friend home to New Zealand where he belongs.
We have received a generous contribution in the transportation of his body from Shanghai to Auckland. However, due to the difficulties in dealing with the authorities in Bejing and the length of time that he has been kept there, there are many added costs involved in the release and transportation of his body to Shanghai.
Any financial assistance to help bring dad home would be greatly appreciated.
Funds will be used on repatriation costs to bring Mark Norrie home to New Zealand.
update on Mark Norrie 5 September 2019
Thank you all for the generous contributions in helping us to get dad home. He has arrived in Auckland this morning.
Just to clarify that we did have a generous contribution which would have removed a lot of the cost of repatriation. This was air travel related. In the end unfortunately we were not able to bring dad back via that method and all those costs are now liable by the family.
All of the generous donations to date will be used for the repatriation
the total repatriation costs which included hospital fees, autopsy, body storage, death certificate, Bejing funeral parlour costs, death certificate/verification paperwork and flights have exceeded 23,000 NZD
The family appreciate all the support that has been given so far to this cause.
