Raising funds to help get Ngaire and Jose home to New Zealand
Auckland
Ngaire and Jose met and fell in love in New Zealand in 2008. They married in Auckland in 2018. A mistake with Jose's visa meant that Jose had to return to Peru in 2019. After a year apart, Ngaire travelled to Peru to be with Jose. The plan was to get Jose's partnership visa sorted and return home. Unable to afford an immigration lawyer, Ngaire and Jose attempted to make the application themselves. It was declined due to not providing enough information. Peru is now in lockdown. The couple have exhausted their finances and are struggling to pay daily living costs. Jose is working as a cleaner to try and stop the spread of covid-19 while Ngaire has been at home trying to obtain the documents from New Zealand that the pair need for immigration.
Ngaire's children and family are all in New Zealand. Her youngest children are only 9 and 11 years old. Ngaire, being of Nga Puhi descent has land in New Zealand.
Ngaire and Jose need help from an immigration lawyer which they cannot afford. If a partnership visa is granted, the pair will need around $10,000 to pay for mercy flights to get home. On top of this, immigration requires that they have money in the bank to show they can meet daily living costs in New Zealand. Their savings are now gone after Peru suddenly went into lockdown.
Ngaire desperately misses home and her children. Without our help, they have no hope of funding the process they have found themselves stuck in. Jose is a dedicated husband and a hard worker. He would be an asset to New Zealand.
I am a whanau friend of the beneficiaries.
The money will be spent on an immigration lawyer ($5000 approx), mercy flights ($5000 each approx) and re-establishing the couple in New Zealand.
