Help me get Leilani home to New Zealand from Rarotonga
Manawatu / Whanganui
I recently returned home from 2 months of voluntary veterinary nursing work in Rarotonga. While there I fell in love with a beautiful stray dog, Leilani.
Leilani was a stray puppy that had been living on the beach outside a resort before she was taken to the veterinary clinic, where she lived with me and other volunteers. While the life of a stray dog sounds great in Rarotonga - running, swimming and playing all day this is not quite the case. It is not uncommon for stray's in Rarotonga to be shot or involved in road traffic accidents. They also run the risk of being killed for human consumption.
Due to unforeseen circumstances Leilani can no longer stay at the home she had in Rarotonga and it would mean the world to me if we can bring her home to New Zealand. It is estimated to cost around $4000-$5000 to make this possible, due to flights, vaccinations, blood tests, quarantine etc etc
I am a trained vet nurse and currently own one dog who would love a friend to play with. I know all the costs and training involved with owning a dog and don't doubt that I will be able to give Leilani the love, attention and finances that she needs!
If I do not reach this goal and am somehow unable to bring Leilani to NZ, all raised funds will be donated to The Esther Honey Foundation.
