Stealing is bad and taking the livelihood of someone who is sick, is downright evil. Please help this family to get back on their feet.
Canterbury
This may read like a script of a cheap thriller, but it's not fiction. Unfortunately! Maureen and Steve live in Christchurch. He's a panel beater and she is a commercial cleaner. She did his office work as well as running her own little business, grooming campervans. Through that we got to know them. They worked for us for many years. About 5 years ago Steve was diagnosed with throat cancer and underwent surgery, followed by a long and painful process of radiation and chemo. He is still suffering from the aftermass. He is in constant pain, he can't eat properly and therefore lost weight, finds it hard to get his strength back. The earthquakes affected a downturn in business but they tried to keep going nevertheless. Maureen picked up more work in the evenings to cope financially. This led to her needing shoulder surgery. Another setback. Last Sunday some scumbags broke into their workshop and got away with all tools, sanders, spray guns, power tools, everything, the lot!!! Steve does not want to give up. Being able to work is a reason to get out of bed! He has a car of a client sitting there, ready to be spray painted and he doesn't want to let his clients down. But without spray guns he can't do anything. He needs new tools, full stop. If you could give a little money that would be of great help. I don't know how much they really need, hence I only set up this appeal for a donation without a goal or set sum. Every little bit helps!!! A new professional spray gun, so Maureen said, is between $350 and $ 500. Good tools are essential, but expensive.
Maureen is a dear friend. Her partner fights cancer and tries to keep working. They got burgled last Sunday and lost ALL machinery and tools. They were not insured, didn't have the extra money because of his cancer.
The money will be spend on new work equipment / tools and if there is some extra it will help with the medical bills.
