Cancer Treatment for Shaneeza Razia Bano

Our dear sister Shaneeza Razia Bano at the age of only 37 years old has recently been diagnosed with an endometrial cancer and needs adjuvant pelvic radiotherapy to improve her cancer control.

Since this treatment is not offered in Fiji, she is hoping to come to New Zealand to access her adjuvant radiotherapy treatment. Her family are organising funding for treatment in New Zealand at Auckland Radiation Oncology.

The estimate for Auckland Radiation Oncology (ARO) includes the planning CT, planning MRI, radiation therapy treatments, MIQ and care by the radiation oncologist during treatment at ARO is estimated around $40,000 New Zealand dollars.

Shaneeza was diagnosed with endometrial cancer and had a surgery at Lautoka Hospital in Fiji 6 months ago. As per doctors at Lautoka Hospital explained that for stage 2 endometrial cancer she needs radiation therapy to reduce her risk of local recurrence or prevent spreading cancer in her other organs. This treatment is not available in Fiji and she will need to access it in a highly specialized hospital. Any kind of help will be much appreciated.
