We are raising funds to help Caren and her 13 year old son Joshua start a new life without their beloved husband and father David.

The Liebenbergs are a beautiful South African family, who came to Matamata, NZ two and a half years ago to give their son, Josh a better life. Tragically, husband and father Dave was struck by a car riding his bicycle on Tuesday 30th April, 2019 and died instantly.

We want to help raise some funds for Caren and Josh who are left behind. Any funds raised will help cover funeral costs, rent, power and food and other living costs as they adjust to life without their Father and Husband. The family came to NZ for a new beginning and as such, they have no insurances of any sort, and were still in the process of establishing themselves. Any savings have gone to cover visa costs etc. therefore Caren and Josh really are starting anew. ACC will provide some financial support to the family but any financial assistance you can offer them for this unexpected new journey will be gratefully received.

Caren is part of my Matamata Baptist Church family. This lovely family came out from South Africa two and a half years ago to create a new life and better future for their son Joshua. They were just about to obtain residency. On the 30 April Caren's husband David was struck by a car when out biking and killed. Caren and Joshua need financial assistance to help meet the immediate costs of a life without David.
