Cartyr's Craniopharyngioma Brain Tumour

This gorgeous 8 year old young boy has been sadly recently diagnosed with this terrible brain tumour. After a year of migraines and fatigue, his mum Hayley got the news all mums never want to receive for their child. Cartyr will undergo extremely dangerous, invasive, life-threatening surgery on Tuesday the 7th of September to try partially remove the mandarin sized tumour wrapped in his brain, one of the many surgeries ahead. The neurosurgeon has advised that his tumor is the worst he has come across in the 25 years of his surgical career. With a 1 in 10 chance of stroke and a 1 in 20 chance of death, the dangerously large tumour has already caused life long damage to parts of Cartyrs brain resulting in daily hormone injections on top of radiation and other treatment no 8 year old should have to endure. Without surgery Cartyr would have passed away in months. Cartyr is from a wonderful family, with a twin sister, and two more siblings. His 1 year old sister is his best mate, he has always been her protector and an amazing big brother.

Hayley is in hospital at present with her boy where she is torn between spending every moment with Cartry while also trying to ensure her three other children are coping with this inconceivable situation their brother is in.

Level 4 lockdown is yet another huge hurdle for Hayley and her family, keeping this family apart from support that is much needed at this time.
