To fundraise towards a mobility vehicle for my nephew Kash.

Wellington

Kash is 4 years old and was diagnosed with a rare movement disorder (similar to cerebral palsy), so rare that the doctors are yet to fully diagnose him.

He was diagnosed at 6 months which is when he first started showing symptoms and not long after that he developed epilepsy.

Kash is non-verbal, but uses a PODD book to communicate and a walker to get around. His intellect has not been affected and loves being involved in everything the family does.

He has a wicked sense of humour, a delicious smile and the skinniest legs you have ever seen!

Due to his movement disorder he burns 4 x the amount of calories as any other individual.

Kash is a real trooper and despite all of this and his continual procedures he radiates pure happiness.

The past 4 years has been a tough journey, physically, emotionally and financially. Kash's parents, my sister Nicola and brother-in-law Dave have spent a substantial amount of money making modifications to their house for Kash.

Kash starts school this year and with this comes some big changes and new challenges, as he now requires a wheelchair, as well as his walker.

Unfortunately Nicola & Dave's current car doesn't accommodate for a wheelchair, plus all the extra equipment that Kash needs, as well as transporting the rest of the family. Therefore yet another additional expense has come up as they now need to purchase a Mobility vehicle.

Nicola has applied for funding to help towards purchasing a vehicle, but this wont cover the entire cost and if they were to get another loan they cannot afford to service it. You never really budget for having a child with special needs.

As a family, this is our first step towards fundraising and any donations would be gratefully accepted.

Thank you xx
