This page is for Ken's family and friends to share in creating a memorial plaque and supporting his passion for tennis and squash at BBRC.
Browns Bay, Auckland
Ken loved life with his primary passions being family, friends, sports and lots of laughter. He lived life to the fullest and passed away at the age of 88 years old on 17th December 2023.
He was a member of Browns Bay Racquets Club for 20+ years and enjoyed helping out around the club, running the bar and most of all meeting up with friends to play squash and tennis. As a memorial, we believe he would have loved nothing more than having a permanent place at the club, (e.g. bench and plaque), where NZ family and friends can always remember him. Additionally, any remaining funds will be used to improve and grow the club for future members. Early this year the club was devastated by unprecedented floods, courts had to be rebuilt, and members were lost during the 6 months of downtime (yes, Ken temporarily played at other nearby clubs).
Instead of sending the family flowers, please share your love and thoughts with us by honouring him through a donation. Also, if you are NZ based, join us at Browns Bay Racquets Club on Saturday 25th November at 3pm to celebrate his life with drinks, snacks and shared memories. Donations can be made through this page, directly to the club (ref: Ken) or if you prefer, cash at the celebration.
The BBRC club has graciously agreed to allow a memorial (e.g. a bench and plaque) at the Club and will use any remaining funds to support club improvements or youth/membership growth
