Changing lives in Africa

Hi my name is Christine. With a very extensive history of volunteering in Kenya - I am now returning back in 2020 to continue with my successful support networks.

Money raised will go directly to my projects currently running in Nairobi, Kenya:

- Installing water wells in rural Kenya. Wells are extremely important to all societies. In many places wells provide a reliable and ample supply of water for home uses, irrigation, and industries. Where surface water is scarce, such as in deserts, people couldn't survive and thrive without groundwater.

- Yangua school feeding program. Proper nutrition is essential for children to succeed in school. By feeding children a proper diet, we are helping them to be able to function properly in school in addition to fostering their growing mind and bodies. A proper diet is especially important for growing children.

- Women’s support groups structured to help women living in poverty. The support groups allow for microfinancing, enabling women to start small businesses. It was also established for women to form a community where they can empower each other and support the needs of their children as a unit. Donations will contribute to investing in sewing machines, materials, equipment and future expanding the project to help more women in need.

- Supplying school girls in rural Kenya with re-usable sanitary pads so they can attend school. Due to the lack of resources and funding, a lot of young girls will miss out on 20% of their school year. Often resulting in early dropout rates and low education. Donations will fund the women in our support groups to make reusable sanitary products so we are able to distribute them amongst vulnerable young girls who can not afford them. The sanitary pads will be provided to these girls free of charge.

With 13years experience working voluntary in Kenya, my projects are successful and significant. Ongoing funding is incredibly important for the achievement of these continuing projects.
