Charlotte & her family need funding to get through Charlottes cancer

Nationwide

Charlotte Ann Moriarty is a 3.5 year old little girl who has a twin brother 10 minutes younger. Charlotte and her family emigrated to New Zealand from London about 20 months ago. Mum is Irish and Dad is English.

Charlotte was diagnosed with cancer in July 2014. Charlotte has been undergoing chemo therapy in Christchurch since then.

Whilst the chemo has been successful to date, Charlotte needs to go to Australia for Brachytherapy, a form of radiotherapy. Charlotte and one parent will be funded. So the family are endeavouring to raise funds for the second parent and of course Charlottes twin, PJ, be able to go also.

Dad is self-employed and has not worked really since Charlotte was diagnosed. Just last week his work truck was stolen from outside the family home. So the family now need some financial help

Irish friends and family pleased see below. There will be an Irish giving page soon.

Due to our credit card fraud risk management policies some countries are restricted.

If your donation transaction failed, and you hold a credit card issued outside of New Zealand, please email helpdesk@givealittle.co.nz and we will assist you to to make the transaction.

Charlotte has reached the end of her Treatment  8 April 2015

Sorry we have not updated more throughout this journey but we have been so taken up with Charlotte’s treatment, something’s were neglected.

Charlotte finished her treatment in early February. Once the treatment had time to work and Charlotte had recovered the hospital re scanned Charlotte and did all the relevant tests and examinations.

We were told that there is no trace of the tumour and Charlotte is officially in remission. Charlotte will always be under surveillance & the care of the hospital. Nobody knows what the future holds for any of us but we are very hopeful that Charlotte will now be able to get on with having the same happy and active childhood that her twin PJ enjoys.

We would like to thank you very much for your kind donation. Charlotte's fund will be used to ensure she can continue to enjoy her childhood. She will be able to have extra tuition and help to catch up with PJ. She is already making up for lost time in the swimming pool spending more than 2 hours in there at her first visit – she would probably still be there if we didn’t make her get out!!!

At the time the Givealittle page was set up, we did not know what we were facing and how much it was going to cost us. Your donation helped to greatly ease that worry and also contributed to funds that will enable Charlotte to put the last 8 months behind her.

When Charlotte is old enough to understand all of this, we will make sure she knows how kind perfect strangers and friends and family were to us and how their generosity eased our burden at a very stressful time.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts
