Please help Claudine to have some precious memories (and ease financial pressure) with her children whilst she has stage 4 breast cancer
Otago
Claudine means a lot to so many, but none more than the family who surrounds her daily.
With 5 children from 4 to 12, Claudine has been given the news that the stage 4 breast cancer she was diagnosed with a year ago is now more imminently terminal.
She’s now let us (some of her friends) create this givealittle page that we’ve wanted to create for so long. She’s let us so that she can do that bucket list with her amazing family, have some of those family times and to ease the financial pressure that cancer brings.
We’d love to you give something, no matter how small (or large) to be able to show them how many love and care for them. We want them to be able to have moments of joy and happiness in the time before fatigue and pain becomes overwhelming.
For Claudine, it started with a battle of misdiagnosis and a few months later with a diagnosis of stage 4 inflammatory breast cancer. She has fought so hard with herceptin and chemo, but she’s been told that these are no longer stopping the growth. She has one last ditch treatment by the way of oral chemo to try to prolong the short people time she has left with her family and friends.
Inflammatory breast cancer is a rare breast cancer that shows itself as an inflamed breast – a bit like mastitis – rather than a lump. It is diagnosed at a minimum of stage 3, and often stage 4 as it rapidly grows.
The funds that are raised are to be given to Claudine and the family to use in whichever way they see fit. It may be anything from buying groceries, to paying for treatment, to a holiday or something completely different from this.
Claudine is a good friend of mine and we want to help her.
