Come Through for Roo!

Asking for help is often the hardest thing. But when push comes to shove, you have to let your people know that you need a hand.

Auckland

Roo Reihana-Wilson is a well loved and appreciated person within so many communities across Auckland, Wellington, Palmy, Christchurch, Otāki, the Far North and beyond.

Roo needs our help. For the last 1.5 years, they have been the primary carer for both of their parents, who have cancer. One is stage 4, and the other lives on the other side of the country. Due to this, their work options are limited, and the bills and travel costs are stacking up. Roo also lives with multiple disabilities, so the constant upheaval puts a strain of their physical health.

Everyone in Roo’s whānau is doing everything they can to wrap around and support them. But as their chosen whānau, we want to help too.

If Roo has ever:

- Done hours of unpaid labour on your creative project

- Given you film producing/accounting advice

- Cooked for you

- Helped you move house

- Made you laugh

- Assisted with a funding proposal

- Held your child

- House-sat for you

- Helped you with your te reo pronunciation

- Been there through a break-up

- Risked their life for your theatre show

Now is the time we lend them a hand!

We are aware that we are all broke and the world is on fire. But if you can spare just a couple dollars, this would truly go a long way.

For full transparency, all koha will go straight to Roo directly. We want to help our mate stay afloat during this incredibly tough time for their family.

Thank you.

2% Effective Fee
On average, fundraisers pay just 2% to use Givealittle. This is one of the lowest effective fees in New Zealand fundraising. We charge a 5% platform fee to cover the cost of running the platform. Because most donors choose to top up their donation to cover this fee, the effective cost paid by fundraisers is about 2%. That means around 98 cents of every dollar raised goes to the cause.
