Conor’s Road to Recovery

The Farrow family is in need of help as their 14 year old son Conor battles a rare disorder known as Guillain Barre Syndrome (GBS). This particular neurological condition causes the immune system to attack and damage the body's nervous system. As a result it has caused Conor to lose feeling in his extremities, unable to walk, paralysis continued throughout his body now he is unable to speak or breath on his own.
He is currently in the Wellington Hospital ICU in an induced coma.
Conor has always been a fit, healthy teenager who loves to play rugby, basketball, spend time with friends and his brother Cameron. In such a short time the Farrow family have had their lives turned upside down. The timeline for recovery in unknown, through daily blood transfusions, medication and daily physio Conor will have to learn to walk and use his limbs again.
While this journey to recovery could take months Becky and Matt will be in and out of hospital daily to be there with Conor. Becky will be there for Conor for as long as he needs. They need support to be able to help him recover from this horrible disease.

Use of funds
Medical supplies/bills/medications, petrol to get to and from the hospital, helping with household bills as Becky is unable to work while looking after Conor so she has taken leave without pay.

Update on Conor 6 July 2022
Thank you to everyone for donating, Becky, Matt and Conor are overwhelmed by the kind donations. Thank you to all of the wonderful people who have been making meals for the family, dropping off food, care packages and checking in on them. All of the kindness, love and support is so much appreciated.
A quick update on Conor’s condition; after spending over a week in ICU Conor had begun breathing on his own so was able to get off the ventilator and be moved to a ward. While there is still a long journey ahead of him and the Farrow Family, he is beginning to move his extremities, swallow liquids and breathe by himself. Conor is so determined and strong minded, he is keen to get better and everyday there has been improvement with his condition. He has been very fortunate to have incredible parents who have been by his side the whole time, especially Becky who is with him 24/7, she even sleeps on a chair next to him every night. The staff at the Wellington Hospital and especially in ICU have been incredible and we thank them for all their hard work.
