Cortez Kavana Medical Fundraiser

$1,340 donated
Given by 10 generous donors in 6 years

This fundraiser exists to assist Cortez Kavana and his family in supporting his recovery time as he heals from a recent accident.

Auckland

On the 2nd February 2016, Cortez was involved in an accident. Due to injuries caused in his accident Cortez is now facing a different journey to most 19 year old boys.

Cortez's injuries are very serious, and in the long term will see him tackle challenges both physically & mentally. With a break in his neck, and a spinal cord injury Cortez is now facing a life more challenging, but in no way life ending.

Cortez is the youngest child, and is a very loving young man. He is always polite, respectful, and will always put others before him no matter what. He is that son who will always make sure that you are ok before he is. With loads of nieces & nephews he is the uncle that will never say no to a bedtime story or a walk to the shop for lollies. He loves his sports, especially Rugby & League, and was looking into studying Culinary at Eastern Institute of Technology Napier this year.

With the support of Middlemore Hospital Staff, Physiotherapy, Psychologists, Family & Friends, we know that Cortez will be able to tackle anything that is put in front of him. Luckily, the staff at the hospital have been incredible and has made this challenging time a lot more bearable with their attention and care.

With Cortez's permission, opening this page is an opportunity to allow family, friends and anyone else who would like to donate funds towards this unknown path he is about to take, and to assist in any financial needs he may face with rehabilitation, transport, housing, physio, equipment etc. The idea is that together we can support each other with small donations and help as a greater whole. Even the small donations are so helpful. Thank you.

It may be a long road ahead, but the goal is for Cortez to stand on his own two feet again, and find his own independence in the future. As a man of God, Cortez has a strong faith, and with all your prayers and thoughts, he has achieved so much already...imagine where he will be in a years time...

Thank you for taking the time to read Cortez's story, and most of all thank you for taking the time to donate. God Bless x
