My awesome brother in law Damon Jacobs who has two amazing young children and has recently celebrated his second wedding Anniversay has just had some devastating and life changing news.

After a bad run of poor health he has been diagnosed with Metastatic Her2 positive Adenocarcinoma ( a very aggressive form of cancer ) and its moving fast so it needs immediate medication.

The public health system has confirmed they will fund basic chemotherapy BUT they will not fund the drug Herceptin which has been recommended for this form of cancer and is the key to helping him stick around for as long as possible.

WE NEED YOUR HELP to raise money to pay for this treatment which will give this much loved family man, brother, son, friend some quality time to spend with us all

When we found out that Damon was so sick we were all devastated. Damon is such an amazing guy and has so much to live for. The best possible chance of him having such precious time with us all is him having Cetuximab treatment. SO LETS DO THIS !

Use of funds

The funds will be used to pay for the drug Herceptin. Any excess funds will be used to help with daily living expenses due to Damon not being able to work and WINZ not helping.

Thank you & my Herceptin has started !! 9 January 2018

A few words from Damon : I don't know where to start. Ever since I was hit by the devastating news just before Christmas I was in denial for the first few weeks but I knew I had to be positive and that's how I have been since. As people started to learn why I had not been looking well over the past few months I was hit by everyone's positive support, amazing messages, the love and the response and help towards my Herceptin medication.

I guess you can never prepare yourself for things that are out of your control but the one thing I am in control of is the fight and determination to beat this somehow, even if I have been given a timeline. To me that's just not what's going to happen and apparently my stubbon ass won't let that happen anyway hahaha.

It broke my heart to have to tell my kids what's wrong with Me, but having their Mum and Holly there, who they both love so much, was the help I needed to tell them about that horrid C word.

Six weeks on and I have had two chemo sessions out of 15 and one dose of Herceptin. The Herceptin is the unfunded drug that apparently does good things and I want that extra time. Ever since my first round of chemo I have actually felt the best I have felt energy wise in a long time and this is because my blood levels have finally risen, I have gained weight and I am not a pale ghost now haha. I put a lot of this down to how I have been loved and cared for by my wife Holly and the healthy veges shakes she has made for me at all times of the day ;)

I aim to get around and see as many people as I can over the next little while, but until then can I please thank each and everyone of you for donations but more importantly the love that everyone has shared
