Dan + Tess's Surrogacy Journey

Dan and I have have one beautiful 18 month old daughter Indi who is the centre of our universe, but unfortunately during her birth, complications arose after my emergency c-section and I was haemorrhaging significantly. After going back into surgery for 4 hours and having the blood in my body replaced twice over, my surgeon had to make the tough decision to perform a hysterectomy to save my life (it was me or the womb) so I can't carry anymore children. This is obviously devastating for us, as we had always envisioned creating a bigger family and never expected something like this to happen to us.

On the bright side, I still have my ovaries and therefore eggs (which are in great nick), so Dan and I are able to have create another baby that's 100% our DNA, all we need is a womb!

An incredible, selfless friend has offered to be our surrogate, our WONDER WOM(B)AN, and we are over the moon about it. Unfortunately the process is expensive, applying to the ethics committee to get the thumbs up to go ahead with the surrogacy, legal and medical costs, support of our amazing surrogate, and the adoption process (yes, we have to adopt our own baby) is all very costly, and we don't have that amount of money just sitting there to pay for it all.

We are asking for help from anyone who would like to contribute to help us make our dream of baby #2 become a reality, give Indi a sibling and complete our family. It would mean the world to us. Any amount big or small will make a huge difference and we so so appreciate it.

We are so excited to be able to start this journey for our baby #2, even though its a more difficult, incredibly emotional and different one than we ever imagined.
