Hi Rebecca,
Apologies I called you Tracey in the last email! Just checking in to see if Darnae had had a chance to decide if she would like to do a story? As I said previously, I completely understand if she does not want to be in the paper so no worries if the answer is no :) Hope you are both well and enjoying the sun today.
Tracey
Hi Abbey,
sorry I have just seen your last message. Since then I hear the express may have already done a small article regarding Darnae and the netballathon that her amazing netball family are putting on for her.
Darnae is doing extremely well now and her surgeon got an amazing correction on her spine. We are so grateful to have had the opportunity to come to Barcelona and get this amazing surgery.
If you need any further info please feel free to ask.
Rebecca

Hi Tracey, thanks for getting back to me :) Totally understandable! Let me know what she thinks when she’s ready. Kindest regards, Abbey.

Hi Tracey,
I am a reporter with the Southland Express and Otago Daily Times, I came across your give a little page for Darnae and was wondering if she would be interested in having a chat with me about her journey with scoliosis? Obviously you, or someone else in her family are welcome to be a part of the story and meet with me too. I can mention the give a little page in the article and hopefully that will encourage more people to donate! If this is something Darnae and her family are interested in doing, please feel free to get in contact with me at abbey.palmer@odt.co.nz. I understand if not, but I would be very respectful in the way I approached the story and would be happy to go over it with Darnae to make sure she is comfortable with it! I look forward to hearing back from you :)
Tracey
Hi Abbey,
I'm Darnae's mum Rebecca. I have broached the subject with Darnae and she is giving the idea some thought. If it's ok with you, I'll send you an email to let you know either way by Thursday at the latest ☺
