Darnae's Scoliosis Journey - Time is of the essence!

    We have made it - Darnae is on her way to Barcelona today. There were lots of hugs and so many emotions at the airport, but most importantly we felt relief that she is on her way to getting the surgery she needs.

    In true Darnae fashion she lead the way!

    It is hard to believe all the planning, packing, emailing, booking, researching, fundraising etc is now behind us and the real hard work is about to begin.

    Thank you so much everyone who has made this possible, it means more to us than we can ever express.

  • UPDATE ON DARNAE

    Some of you have asked if the xray picture on here is a recent one, unfortunately it's not, this xray was taken in January when her thoracic curve measured 66 degrees. We do not know exactly what her curve is now as the doctors don't want to expose her to anymore radiation than is necessary, so her next xray won't be until her preop checks in Barcelona. It is very apparent to us and her surgeon that the curve is continuing to progress by physically looking at her. She is now having more regular back pain and is needing much more sleep than normal, sometimes up to 14 hours. She is also getting a lot more pain in her legs and they sometimes look like her circulation isn't great after standing still for a period of time.

    Darnae still amazes us daily with her positivity and strength and will always try and push through the pain with a smile on her face.

    Will start posting updates on here more as the time gets nearer to our departure date.
