Support for David Turner while he fights a stroke recovery head-on.
Nationwide
Our beloved David Turner had a stroke on the 27th of June 2019. He was extremely lucky in that his wonderful partner got an ambulance to him quickly, and he was rushed to North Shore Hospital for immediate care.
He is lucid, able to converse well, but has lost the strength of vision - everything is blurry and it could be a very long recovery. He is very tired as one would expect, but more so he is extremely scared - and has every right to be.
As you know, DT is a major player in television production, for decades he has produced and directed locally and around the globe. Motorsport, Indycar, Americas Cup, Olympics, DT is exceptional at what he does.
But he is freelance and you only earn when jobs come along. Now he can't earn at all - so without his vision and without knowing how long the recovery will be DT needs our help.
For years he has helped others with their careers and dreams - now it is our turn to pay it back and support one of the nicest guys on this planet.
David is a top bloke and a perfect friend. His kindness is often taken advantage of and for this reason he deserves kindness in return.
Supporting Dave across the board.
He’s home now! 3 July 2019
DT is out of hospital and home again. It’s now recovery time and some big discussions with optometrist and doctors to get an understanding on his vision.
