Debbie needs expensive private treatment to ensure her breast cancer doesn't return.
Auckland
My dear friend Debbie was diagnosed with breast cancer in June. She has since had an operation to remove the tumour, but has now been told there is a 25% chance of the cancer returning and spreading unless she has radiotherapy.
Problem is, there are only two of the necessary radiotherapy machines in Auckland and one of them is not in operation. And the waiting list for the one available machine is longer than the 12 weeks in which Debbie needs to have the treatment. So she has to go private, which costs $20,950. Ouch.
Debbie doesn't like asking for help, but she doesn't have this money and a lot of people have been asking her how they can assist. Health-wise and also financially, this is the best way to give Debbie peace of mind. Thank you for any donations and kind wishes.
I'm a longtime friend and travel buddy of Debbie's. We went to Madagascar, Tuscany and Cuba together. She has grudgingly given me permission to do this.
The money will go straight into Debbie's bank account and be used exclusively for her hospital bill.
