Kaikoura High School is raising funds to purchase new hockey equipment to develop the sport at the school and within the community.

Canterbury

The Kaikoura High School Hockey team is raising funds to purchase new hockey equipment to develop the sport at the school and within the community.

Netball and Rugby are the key sports on offer in Kaikoura, but over the past couple of years, hockey is making an appearance through the after-school club run in spring/summer and through the High School.

The High School team is now participating in a weekly competition for the first time (despite having to undertake a 3 hour round trip for each fixture!), which has been integral to the development of the players skills and knowledge of the rules, as well as raising the profile of the sport in the town.

Despite all of the hard work from everyone involved, we are still racing to catch up with other teams of similar age groups and the facilities schools and clubs have to offer.

In order to further hockey here, our biggest requirement is a pair of hockey goals, to train more effectively and give our players much needed support in their game.

Please help our school raise the profile of Hockey in Kaikoura and help our children to grow through the experience of a new sport.

About us

Kaikoura High School is a small, rural school on the South Island of New Zealand.

Use of funds

The funds raised will go towards the purchase of hockey goals. Any surplus funds will go towards the cost of goalkeeping equipment for the High School.
