Do it for Diarmuid

Diarmuid Barron (29) is a happy go lucky fella originally from Askeaton in Co. Limerick and has been enjoying life with his partner Jenna in New Zealand for the last 8 years.

The fun loving guy took a recent trip back to his beloved Ireland to visit friends and family in December. While at home, Diarmuid, all of a sudden became very unwell, and had to go to the emergency department. At first they thought it was a minor ailment but after a number of tests Diarmuid was unfortunately diagnosed with an aggressive gastro-oesophageal cancer that has also spread to his liver. Diarmuid, along with his friends here and abroad, have been shocked with the news but are determined to help Diarmuid in any way we can.

Back in Ireland, Diarmuid has started chemotherapy to help treat the cancer.

Diarmuid is planning to get married to Jenna in July 2019 and we want to do everything we can so that they can celebrate that day.

We are a Gaelic Football and Hurling/Camogie club based in Auckland. Diarmuid is a big part of our club and played most recently in goals for our men's Gaelic football team. Along with Auckland GAA (our regional Gaelic Athletic Association), we want to raise awareness and support for our friend in need.
