Dominic ChiTar is the Secondary Schools 2016 MVP He needs your help to get him to the Youth World Champs in Montenegro at the end of August
Auckland
Dominic ChiTar is the Secondary School’s National MVP for 2016 – as named in Wellington in April! He is in his final year of school and hoping to make the 2016 Youth Waterpolo World Champs in Montenegro from 27 August to 3 September. The players have spent months and months in a selection process, and although the final team is yet to be named, Dom is highly likely to make the squad – I would bet our house on it!
NZ Waterpolo does not fund individual participation in this event, despite the fact that these boys travel there to represent NZ on a world stage, against the future Olympians of waterpolo. The funding simply isn’t available.
Dominic comes from an incredibly supportive, loyal and loving family, who have worked extremely hard to provide him with the opportunities that have gotten him to this position and have molded him not only as the amazing player he is but also as an outstanding and upstanding young man. As New Zealanders we should feel honoured to have him represent us. This trip is just a stretch too far for his family.
If he wasn’t able to travel with the team, because of finances – the team, and our chances at doing well would very much be compromised.
All donations would be hugely appreciated. The goal is to to raise $8500. In the highly unlikely event that Dom isn’t selected, any donations will be refunded.
I thank you in advance for your generosity.
I am a friend of the family’s. Dom and our son play in the same school team. I'm involved as I believe that Dom deserves this opportunity, and because I want to see him get there! And I believe that his hard work, along with his family's deserves to be recognised and supported by the wider community - (unfortunately there are no grants to help get these athletes to the Worlds)
