Aspiring New Zealand athlete aims to attend u20 word championships Lima, Peru
Maraetai, Auckland
Over the last 3 years I have had success competing for my athletics club Papakura across New Zealand and Australia. I am the reigning U20 & Open men’s national javelin champion in NZ and placed 2nd at the Australian nationals this year. I am presently in the top 20 throwers in the world.
Its an honour & privilege to have been selected to represent NZ at the U20 world championships in Lima, Peru this August. This is a big step for my career as an athlete and I relish this opportunity and challenge ahead.
I have recently gained my NZ citizenship, which along with the expense of gear, equipment, travel and accommodation means it is a financial challenge to get to Lima and compete. It will cost in excess of $10,000 to attend the world championships.
This once in a lifetime opportunity to represent NZ is a dream come true. Any amount of financial assistance you can offer would be so much appreciated.
I thank you for taking time to read this note and look forward to success at this event.
Many thanks
