  • Treatment Plan

      1 February 2020

Durrick is seeking advanced care in North Carolina, USA. He is seeking treatment in a clinic renown for its success with cancer recovery and many other chronic illnesses. To do this, Durrick will need two rounds of treatment, with each round being one month long. Each round costs US$40,000 and is a month long intensive regime. Durrick will require a minimum of US$80,000.

Durrick will need to base himself and a support person (required as part of the program) in North Carolina for the period of the treatments. Travel costs etc are included in the US$80,000.

Durrick is selling everything he has for this treatment, which will not be enough to cover the costs of this treatment. Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

Durrick is hoping to start his treatment in the USA within February 2020.

    Please can you help.

  • Update for January 31, 2020

      1 February 2020

Hi everyone, another update on Durrick’s Progress.

Durrick has had a number of events happen over the past week that have been quite challenging coupled with moments of sheer ecstasy. He is creating a new future for him.

A biopsy was taken of the colon mass, showing that it has grown. The urgency of Durrick’s treatment has increased. He has been researching approaches and has decided that before taking an approach with chemotherapy, he is trying a clinic in North Carolina that has had great success with cancer recoveries. This will require Durrick and a support person to travel and stay in the USA for one month at a time. Initial discussions with the clinic are stating that Durrick may need two rounds.

Each round cost $40,000US, including travel and living costs for that period. A support person from New Zealand will need to be with him in the USA as part of the program requirements. This is included in the $40,000US cost. Durrick’s brother Derrell is the best candidate for this role.

One round of treatment is an intensive program of 30 days of IV, chelation, ozone, emotional, meditative approaches and more with the goal of reducing the toxicity within the mind and body to improve the immune function.

A comment that has been made by several doctors as well as bystanders, is that looking at Durrick, you would not think he has this health condition. In fact, if you put him in a crowd of people, Durrick would be picked as the healthy one. The surgeon said that they expected Durrick’s condition to be far more advanced than it is. Another Doctor mentioned that the work that Durrick is doing outside of his allopathic program is definitely enhancing his health. Eating right, daily yoga, meditative practices and focusing his emotions into uplifting thoughts.

Durrick has grown emotionally through this journey. In his own words, “I need to live, I have only just started to love who I am, and love the people and world around me. I have to live to see how magical this world is when I am in love with it, instead of being scared of it.”

Durrick needs this opportunity, it will be intense and costly.. Durrick is selling all that he has to help to fund this trip but needs further financial assistance help to make it happen. Durrick is looking at two rounds of treatment US$40,000 each ($80,000US). The next step will be decided at the end of the cycles and the feedback from the two rounds of treatment.

Durrick’s goal is to be in the US by mid to late February to start his treatment. His passport is ready to go, he just needs funding to make this happen.

Durrick believes a lot in his intuition, the great spirit, the Divine. Durrick believes in new paradigms of healing which are combining the best of science and spirituality together to give optimal outcomes for the patient. This is why he is choosing this approach to recover. Durrick’s focus, determination and results to date are a tribute to his efforts and belief in better ways to heal.

Durrick has had a business for years called Open Healing, where he has explored many health practices on his own health journey with his head injuries and now this cancer diagnosis. Durrick’s goal is to continue sharing his experiences of these modalities with the world to encourage the spread of new ways of healing the human body, mind and spirit. He wants to start a podcast to bring out more information about peoples experiences with their own significant health issues. This will give more stories of success and confidence in exploring alternative approaches. He has much to live for.

SO I ask, can you please help in anyway you can, no matter how small the donation, it is all helping to heal my son.

Thanking you all and warmest appreciation,

    Ayleen Walker

Wonderful to 'see' you, Durrick, from oceans away and up here on Vancouver Island, Canada! As a 21-year post breast cancer thriver, it's especially inspiring to witness you on your own journey of renewal. Thank you for reaching out so that your financial well-being is also cared for through this time. You have been and are such a blessing, Durrick, and may the sweetest bounty, of all you desire, flow to you and through you from us all.

  • An update of activities

      17 January 2020

    Hi everyone,

I want to say a big thank you for your support and for your donations through this Givealittle page.

It has been so encouraging to see the donations coming in big and small. Each donation is helping Durrick to find a way though meaningful way through his recovery. Durrick has expressed that the comfort in knowing he can solely focus on his health for the next several months or so without the financial pressure is a highly important part of his recovery. There is the possibility he may need to travel to explore alternative healing centres in places like Mexico, Singapore or the USA. This is still something that is being worked through.

Durrick has had his first discussion with the oncologist to outline the medical view of the situation. The oncologist is taking it one step at a time which is very helpful. Full blood tests have been undertaken and a possible biopsy is being planned to get a more complete perspective on the medical situation and possibilities for treatment. This will likely happen over the next few weeks.

At the same time of working with allopathic medicine, Durrick is also investigating alternative methods of healing. One of the key aspects of his healing is the need to have a positive focus mentally. He has used a portion of your donations to undertake two important online programs around mindfulness and finding the strength in your perceptions and focus. This has been valuable and has given Durrick a renewed confidence in his abilities and outlook.

Durrick didn't quite realise how much of a community he has around him, and willingness of that community to help him. This is a new found perspective with Durrick, while he knew he is able to help and be with people, he didn't realise just being himself was enough. Unbeknown to most of us, Durrick was challenged with low self worth for most of his life. Through undertaking the development programs over the last year and the programs started recently, he is finding a new found perspective on life and the beauty of life. This is an important motivation for him to get through this journey with success.

Durrick is doing a lot of work around mindfulness following people like Doctor Joe Dispenza and the amazing work he is doing as well as Anita Moorjani who has an incredible journey with Cancer in her own right. Durrick is giving all he has to make this work. He undertakes daily meditation and mindfulness tasks, as well as yoga, he has changed his eating program significantly eating mostly raw and vegan. He is researching possibilities that arise from alternative practitioners and feels confident in these new avenues. He has regular contact with naturopaths, homeopaths, bioresonance, theta healing practitioners as well as an experienced and professional health coach to help him navigate the journey.

Durrick wants everyone to know there is beauty in this journey. New found perspectives on self love and love for the world around him, and the role of belief systems that make this journey worthwhile. There have been many synchronicities and a stronger connection with the creative force of the universe that is beautiful. Yes, those are Durrick’s words.

The journey is not yet over by any means, and the world is full of possibilities. Durrick is taking one step at a time and has a positive outlook for the many years he has ahead of him. He knows he is supported and is so thankful for that.

Thank you again for your financial support, it certainly helps as there are health issues across the family putting a pressure on all.

    With love and thanks

    Ayleen Walker.

Dear Ayleen, if it's not too much trouble to set up with another direct account connection for Durrick, I'd like to donate monthly via auto-withdrawal to it for as long as he needs it. (I was planning to do this anyway but would rather any added service charges go to Durrick instead.) A bunch of us did this for another friend and she found it quite reassuring to know she could count on our collective sum each month.
