Making Mangamahoe Adaptive Friendly
Taranaki
This is for making Lake Mangamahoe more adaptive friendly. With now two local adaptive riders and a whole lot more around we want to make our trails available to everyone. With some slight changes to certain trails we can make a adaptive friendly loop on top of the kids loop and the lower trails.
Here are some words from Thomas Goodwin
Hey everybody, for those of you who don’t know me I’m Thomas!
I had an accident riding my bike over in Tasmania last year which has left me to navigate life from a wheelchair. First of all, I’d just like to mention how chuffed I am that you guys want to do such an epic event in my name. It has been a really heartwarming thing, and I am so lucky to be part of the Taranaki mountain bike community.
I know you guys are as passionate about riding your bikes as what I am and id really like to make this event reach out further than just helping me with purchasing my adaptive bike by putting all of raised funds towards the Mangamahoe park trails to make them more accessible for adaptive bikes and families to enjoy.
I am part of the New Plymouth mountain bike club. Thomas Goodwin is an absolute badass, and fantastic human being that deserves our help to get him on the trails again.
With some slight changes to certain trails we can make an adaptive friendly loop. Some more entries changed to allow access and signage at the main entrance showing the loops and on the trails that are adaptive friendly.
This is amazing, thank you
