Nepal Earthbag School Rebuild Project

Help FSH rebuild early childhood centres & schools in earthquake devastated rural Nepal, using the earthbag construction method.

Nationwide

First Steps Himalaya provides early years education in 22 rural villages in the district of Sindhupalchok, approximately 70kms from Kathmandu. This district was the worst hit district in the Nepal April & May 2015 earthquakes, with high levels of destruction to buildings and high loss of life.

Help us to rebuild early childhood centres and schools using the earthbag construction method. This method is highly earthquake resilient, and low cost. Our rebuild will begin in September 2015 once the monsoon season has passsed.

Getting children back to school is also an important way to help them deal with the trauma of a major natural disaster.

About us

We are a New Zealand registered charity providing improved early years education and community resilience in rural Nepal.

What an amazing organisation you are! all the hard work you have been doing in Nepal destroyed in the few moments of the earthquake - yet the spirit is strong to continue the work and rebuild. Awesome!
