Help refugee and migrant children get to school. $100 NZD can teach, feed and transport a child in Malaysia for a whole month.
Waikato
Lee from the Ebbett Marketing team, and his family, have taken a year’s sabbatical to volunteer their services in Malaysia at the ElShaddai Refugee Learning Centre. The Centre operates a school for refugees, displaced and marginalized children from eighteen different nationalities. The greatest way to help future generations is to educate the children, so with your help we can make a difference.
The school caters for over 1000 students every day (who would otherwise have no access to schooling) with a waiting list of over 200. For many the meal they are given at school is their main meal of the day. To support Lee and his family in their mission to aid these “forgotten groups” we are undertaking a number of fundraising initiatives for the centre with the aim of raising $5,000 by the end of 2019.
ElShaddai Refugee Learning Centre is endorsed by the UNHCR as an implementing partner of education services.
One of our staff members is overseas volunteering at the Elshaddai Refugee Centre in Malaysia. We want to do our best to support him.
100% of the funds will be sent to the ElShaddai Learning Centre which will go directly to the school for education, transportation and food for the students.
We are still going! 19 November 2019
Thank you to everyone who has donated to our cause so far! For those of you who would still like to make a difference in somebody's life, we are going to keep pushing to reach our $5,000 goal.
We originally tied in the close off date with the Round the Bridges fun run. Keep an eye out for our next fundraising event!
