Eli's Film Project

Hey everyone! My final project for film school is coming up in November! I'm going to be filming on Waiheke Island, so this money will go mainly towards helping me out with getting all my 10+ crew across on the ferry, accommodation, and food to keep them all going during our week of shooting :) any help would be super amazing! Here's a brief synopsis of my final project:

Jessica is pessimistic, emotionally confused and kind of a b*tch. In other words, Jessica is an adolescent. She loves writing songs, but she can’t seem to write anything that has depth, or meaning, or emotion. She’s still young, and lacks the life experiences in which she needs to write a meaningful song. So in desperation, she formulates a plan to find herself a boyfriend that she can lead on, only to break up with him for the sake of being able to write a break up song.

As she picks out her candidates, Clyde, one of her classmates, decides to ask her out instead. He’s lonely, listens to sad music, and seems like the type of person who probably cried when Will Smith’s dog died in “I am Legend”. The perfect candidate for an emotional breakup song. Jessica and Clyde go on a few dates, all the while Jessica is figuring out when the best time would be to break up with him to maximise emotional damage and in turn, maximise bountiful creative content. But along the way, Jessica seems to show hints of a genuine connection. She might have accidentally caught feelings for the person she had originally meant to manipulate and use for her own sadistic creative process.
