Ella's journey to beat leukaemia
We are here to offer support to the family of beautiful wee Ella as she bravely beats Leukaemia.

After several sleepless days of uncertainty and worry, Michelle and Darren learnt (on 8th July 2020) that their beautiful daughter Ella had acute lymphoblastic leukaemia
Within 24 hours of being assessed at the Lower Hutt hospital they were in a life flight plane to Christchurch Hospital.
Ella is currently in the Child Haematology and Oncology department for further testing and treatments as diagnostics and an appropriate treatment plan are completed. The family also have accommodation at nearby Ronald McDonald house which is where Ella will transition to when she is able to become an outpatient for her ongoing care. RMH are providing wonderful care and all the necessities for living whilst they concentrate on Ella. They anticipate being based there for up to 6 weeks. (And are eagerly awaiting the arrival of Olivia, Hayley & Michelle’s Mum Linda)
Michelle and Darren have a wonderful support network; a loving family and so many beautiful, caring friends. We acknowledge your wishes (from other channels) to have a platform to contribute; hence this page.

Use of funds
The purpose of this financial support is to help cover the basic day to day expenses whilst their income stream is non-existent. It may also offer the family assistance with flights & accommodation to commute.

A wee update from Michelle and Darren 27 December 2020
Just an update from us. We are nearly 6 months into the 2 year 8 month journey. We have been blown away by the kindness and amazing support we have received for Ella and our whole family . We couldn’t do it without you guys . It’s been a bloody rough ride but with the help of everyone we are doing well. Ella has been so strong and she amazes me each day as we go through this. Her cuddles and smiles get us through. We are taking each day as it comes and staying positive for Ella. We will do this and come out the other side. Thank you all again. Honestly it means so much that we have you along side us xx
