Empower wildlife conservation with technology

We would like to establish a New Zealand charity to educate people about new technologies and support their use to enhance wildlife conservation.

New technologies, like artificial intelligence, are mostly researched and used by profit-driven organisations. However, these technologies has the potential to be used for environmental good. For example, artificial intelligence can facilitate the conservation of species worldwide by enabling wildlife managers to collect and analyse vast amounts of detailed environmental data.

The technologies (e.g. machine learning, drones and remote sensing) are available but they are not being widely used. The lack of knowledge and insufficient resources are limiting the current application of these technologies to protect native biodiversity. At wildlife.ai, we want to raise awareness, support and use the latest technology in current conservation practices.

To achieve our vision, we need your help to raise our first $15,000. This funding will enable us to:

- rent a spot at a co-working space,

- create wildlife.ai marketing materials (signage, branding, banners, and business cards),

- contract a website developer,

- purchase office equipment,

- cover IT maintenance costs for a year (hosting website, domain and cloud services), and

- cover transportation costs to run free educational activities.

Support the use of new technologies to reduce the current extinction rate of species worldwide.
