Help save the 1943 HDML HMNZS Kuparu. I have found her in a neglected state and need help to save her.

I need help to save this 1943 Historical naval launch. She has been sitting on the hard for too many years when I found her, and I plan to save her, have her in the water and used again. I have started on her, got the engines running, removed all of the torn damp tarps off , and made a open tent for her to dry out.

I lost my wife to cancer on the 11th June this year after her 5 1/2 year battle. Leaving me and our two beautiful daughters 11 & 13 devastated. So this is the project to help me get through this difficult time in our lives.

I cant do this alone, I need help, the sooner she is done, the sooner she is in the water.

Kuparu has a new look 8 February 2021

Kuparu has had a month out from mid November to Mid December 2020, with maintenance work, including a large repair on the aft of thekeel due to wood worm gelling in. Sorted should keep the buggers out now.

She has had a full sand down, top to keel, full repaint including a colour change to her Black Boat colours from her Navy fisheries protection days.

So she still needs loads if help and support to keep her going, and ready for her big circumnavigation trip at the end of 2021, to early 2022 to show her off.
