Face a Fear for Alice is to help fundraise for Alice and her blended family of 6 kids and husband Neil.
Wellington
Alice was recently diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Lukemeia.
Alice and I went to Kapiti College together, almost 30 years ago. I haven't seen Alice since then, but we are connected on Facebook.
In honour of my old school friend, and her family, husband Neil and 3 beautiful kids and 3 stepkids, I would like to do what I can to help.
I have set myself a rather daunting challenge, but in no way will this compare to the challenge and fight Alice is going through! I have severe Acrophobia, (fear of heights), and will be walking the track from Paekakariki Escarpment Track to Pukerua Bay. There are not one, but 2 swing bridges that I will need to get myself across to accomplish my goal of completing the track. I will be accompanied by a nurse, just as a precaution, I am also a 3 time heart attack survivor.
All funds will be given directly to the family.
**The walk will be completed either on the 19th or 26th of June- Weather pending**
I went to College with Alice nearly 30 years ago. Although I haven't seen her since, I could never forget the energetic, smart and funny young woman she was, with a laugh that could make you wet yourself :-)
I would like the funds to be used as the family decides. It may be used to help with week to week bills, travel and parking costs to the hospital etc, or if possible, a family break.
