Let's Make Ethical Fashion the 'Normal' in NZ

If you were told you can make a massive difference simply by the clothes you wear, would that make you change? Not as well known as Fairtrade chocolate and coffee, Fairtrade clothing is a growing market and something we believe everyone should get behind. We are doing our bit to make it more accessible for all New Zealanders, and we need your help!

We are passionate about seeing change in the NZ fashion industry, and this business is definitely a labour of love! Risking a lot to make a difference, over the past 9 months we have managed to establish ourselves. However, we would love to expand and need some help in doing so.

Although we are not a Not-For-Profit, we operate in a very similar manner. Firstly, we carry low margins on our products, as we want to make our range as affordable as we can; to remove the price barrier from ethical shopping. Secondly, a good portion of any profits we do make will go to Once Upon A Doug.

For us, it's not simply enough to just stock ethical products. We want to do that little bit more! Along with seeing change in the clothing factories, we are also committed to ensuring those in the cotton fields are well looked after too! Therefore, we are partnering with Once Upon A Doug!

"It works with women from the cotton farming community of Maharashtra, India (from the regions that have the highest number of farmer suicides) to give them a reliable, secondary income AND create awareness of the agrarian crisis in their region. It's working!"

With the removal of insecticides, pesticides, and GMO seeds, the farmers and workers are no longer exposed to harsh chemicals, and neither is your skin through contact with the clothing. Also, the environment is better protected!
