Faith Bible College has existed for nearly 50 years declaring an unchanging message to a changing world.
Bay of Plenty
Over the last 50 years, Faith Bible College (FBC) has played a role in the spiritual and personal development of more than 3950 individuals. People from a multitude of countries, backgrounds, and cultures have experienced transformed lives. It is the passion and desire of FBC to train, equip, and send out graduates to influence and change the communities where God places them.
Although the heart and mission of Faith Bible College has not changed since its inception, the buildings that house this ministry have gone through decades of use and deterioration. It is our prayer and goal to see the grounds and buildings brought up to the same quality and freshness of our purpose and vision.
As FBC prepares to celebrate 50 years in existence, we invite previous students, pastors, and friends of the college to join with us to accomplish this task.
In order to continue in our purpose beyond our 50 years, there are a number of things that need to take place onsite. Over the course of the last 3 years, we have been able to make improvements in the Prayer House, Dining Hall and the main guest unit. However, It is our dream and vision to see the rest of the campus restored and modernised.
Faith Bible College has been in the business of equipping men and women of God for life in ministry for nearly 50 years. Our focus is to see God transform people who can affect and transform their world.
Faith Bible College, founded by Des and Carley Short, started out in 1969 on a donated piece of property in Welcome Bay Tauranga. Its birth was at a time when there were no charismatic Bible Colleges in New Zealand. Although it began as a ministry designed to equip pastors and leaders, believers from every walk of life were attracted to the message of a closer relationship with God. As a result of the diverse backgrounds of the student intake, men and women have been able to carry the gospel of Christ into the business world, government and community services.
It is not uncommon to discover that many of the successful churches throughout New Zealand today are led by Faith Bible College graduates. Changed lives that are now able to make an impact on their jobs and in their communities are a regular testimony shared by many graduating students.
As the reputation of Faith Bible College grew, its notoriety went beyond the borders of New Zealand. Through the years, students from all over the globe have earned their diplomas and returned to their own countries to carry on the work. As a result, FBC has been instrumental in assisting the opening of Bible Colleges in Malaysia, Singapore, India and Africa.
It is our desire to see the building and surroundings as fresh and current as the teachings, curriculum, and vision God gave at its inception.
