final farewells

Our Step mum Apryl Collins has been a rock in our lives since we were very young, even with 4 children of her own, she welcomed my sister and I into her heart and her life and treated us like we were her own, guiding us through our teenage years and supporting not only me and my sister, but also our father and her own children too.

Apryl recently went into hospital with breathing difficulty only to be diagnosed with emphysema and heart failure and was given 6 months to 2 years to live, over the past week her condition has deteriorated and her diagnosis is now critical, the doctors have instructed her to get her affairs in order and say her goodbyes as they do not expect her to even be around to see in the new year.

This is where we need your help, My sister, her two young children and I all live in Auckland, and my dad and apryl live in a small town called otautau at the bottom of the south island. flights to queenstown or Invercargill at this time of the year are beyond any of our budgets, not to mention renting a car to make the final 2hr leg of the journey down there. but the though of missing the chance to see our beloved step mum once more before she passes is bringing me to tears as I write this I cannot stand by and let her go without trying every single avenue I know of to raise the funds to be able to see her one last time!
