Charter aircraft ZK-EBU and seven passengers remain lost without trace.

$5,701 of $35,000 goal
Given by 16 generous donors in around 7 months

Our group is the driving force behind finding ZK-EBU and bringing closure to the family members who were left behind.

Manawatu / Whanganui

It started 36 years ago when a Piper Cherokee 6, call sign ZK-EBU was lost without trace in bad weather with seven souls on board. ZK-EBU was on a charted scenic flight from Dunedin through Queenstown, Milford sound, Preservation inlet and then back to Dunedin. Last contact with the aircraft was made while flying through Milford Sound. Nothing of the aircraft has been seen to this day.

We have made several searches for ZK-EBU and have now come to the conclusion that we will need to use the latest technology foliage penetrating radar system to help in this search.

We have made contact with a company overseas who are willing to donate the use of their latest technology foliage penetrating radar system for free but we will need to pay for the operator's travel expenses and overheads.

Travel costs approximately US $10,000 (Accommodation, food, flights, rental car)

Labor costs US $14,000 (support for 5 days of installation and testing)
