HELP US stop the Fluoridation Bill going through NZ Parliament right now! Funds needed for media campaign including TV and Billboards.
Wellington
We reached $40,000 last year, can we do it again?
New Zealand Health Minister Jonathan Coleman said he expects most of the country to be fluoridated within two years if this law is passed:
Currently, only 23 councils out of 67 have any fluoridation. This Bill will remove the power to decide from the local councils and give it to the District Health Boards. If the local council refuses they will be fined $200,000 plus $10,000 per day for every day they do not comply.
There will be no requirement for the District Health Boards to consult the community or for the DHBs to look at any other health effect other than teeth. Four of the Board members are appointed by the Government.
In our experience the DHBs ALWAYS support fluoridation.
Our aim is to get this information out to the public. We hope you can support us with a financial contribution no matter how small.
As this is election year, we also need people to tell their MPs, and candidates, that they will not support any party that supports this Bill. Calling them is the best way to get their attention. Emails are also necessary!
Potential for Increasing fluoridation across NZ:

We are ordinary New Zealanders, as well as scientists, medical and legal professionals who have done many years of research on this issue. We are concerned water fluoridation is harming many New Zealanders.

This current fundraiser is for our media campaign.
- This will include our very successful TV adverts, which aired on TV3 last year. One of them was covered by main stream media, embedded in a Stuff News article, and had hundreds of thousands of views on a US facebook page. We need funds to get our ad back on air and promote our information using online media.
- We would also like to have billboards in some of the cities and towns around the country if we can raise enough money.
