Oskar is battling a rare type of leukemia. Help Josh and Ariska stay focused on his wellbeing.
Canterbury
Josh, Ariska and Oskar are a lovely little family who live in the small rural town of Methven in South Canterbury.
Early October their lives changed drastically when they discovered that 18 month old Oskar has a rare type of leukemia which can only be cured by bone marrow transplant.
Oskar is currently in Auckland Starship Children hospital, receiving the best care possible, while mum, dad and tatie Claire stay in the nearby Ronald MacDonald house. They are extremely grateful for the continuous support of the hospital staff, Starship Foundation and Health Board, who are doing their best to make them comfortable.
The road ahead is a challenging one, and while Oskar is strong, the family are under enough stress without financial worries on their minds. This page has been created in the hopes of easing financial stress of the unknown road ahead and lightening the load for this brave family.
The Horn family are good friends of mine and I'd like to do help as much as possible during this difficult time.
Money donated will go towards the unknown costs associated with Oskar's treatment. Anything surplus to those costs will be donated to the Ronald MacDonald House and Starship Foundation.
April falls update 11 April 2019
Our wee little monster is doing well! We have left Auckland's hospital and are now back home in Methven since early March. Oskar loves being home and is a very happy boy, learning and discovering every day.
The weekly check ups in Christchurch hospital are showing that Oskar is developing well and staying strong. Seeing that the wee man is doing well, tatie Claire has now left NZ and returned back to France and is looking forward for the family to come visit!
Thank you all again for reading, we will keep updating this page as we go. Lots of love from us all, Oskar, Ariska and Josh.
