Fundraising for our little Onyx
We appreciate all donations of any amount to help Onyx's fractured growth plate surgery. You will make the world of difference.Auckland
Please help our little boy, Onyx.
It comes with a heavy heart for my partner and I to build the courage and ask for help with Onyx's surgery which has cost $3372.33. Unfortunately due to my partner being made redundant last week as a result of COVID-19, we don't know what else to do but ask for your generosity.
Onyx is a 6 month old purebred English Staffordshire Bull Terrior. He has the best nature and the kindest heart. He's the friendliness little guy you would ever meet.
On the 20th of May 2020 Onyx was playing on the couch and fell off the the edge and landed on his left hind leg on a hard wood floor, we immediately took him to the vet the next day as he refused to walk on that leg in fear he had broken his leg, however, upon closer examinations and multiple x-rays, it was apparent that Onyx has fractured his growth plate which required surgery immediately. The exact diagnosis is called a Tibial tuberosity avulsion.
The Pre & Post Operation Costs are outlined below:
Initial vet visit for xrays/referral: $524.33
Surgery on Onyx's leg: $3372.33
Bandage Changes: $300
Check up xrays over six weeks: $500
Surgery to remove pins and wire in leg: $500
Total cost: $5196.66
Onyx's surgery was booked in and carried out on Monday the 25th of May at 8:00 AM at Papakura Veterinary Hospital, 365 Great South Road, Papakura Auckland. Onyx is currently recovering over the next 6 weeks on strict crate rest.
Any amount as low as $1.00 will make the world of difference to us.
Thank you so much, we can't put our gratitude into words.
