Help Noelle represent us at the U21 Summit in Chile!

I have been given a rare opportunity to represent the University of Auckland and our fair New Zealand by participating at the Universitas 21 (U21) Student Summit in Chile in May 2015!

The U21 Student Summit is a week-long meeting of students from across the globe to discuss "How students contribute positively and sustainably to the development of their communities." We will be learning from selected speakers on the theme and holding working group discussions about our own experiences. I will be talking about how the University’s students are currently contributing to communities and how we might continue to do so in the future. It is my hope that our group’s brainstorm on community involvement will produce new ideas for student-led initiatives that can be implemented back here in NZ. At the end of the summit we are expected to present those ideas to the U21 Presidents at the Presidential Symposium. I am so excited to contribute to this discussion!

As a student leader at the University of Auckland, I have always dreamed of doing something like this but I need your help. The university has kindly covered my flight and insurance costs, but I must meet the visa, accommodation, food, and domestic transport costs on my own.

Since being informed of my selection last month, I’ve been putting together what I can from my savings and earnings from odd jobs and casual work. Unfortunately at this stage, I have not been able to meet my financial goal in order to attend the Summit. This is why I now reach out to you, the NZ community.

By donating now, you will be helping me go to the Summit. You will enable me to make a difference on the global stage and bring home some innovative, positive ideas for our communities.

I only need to raise $2000 until 30 April. Any excess I receive will be donated back through Givealittle in support of other Kiwis taking small steps towards their dreams. Will you help me go to the Summit?
