To protect 100,000 children from rotavirus, pneumococcal disease and cervical cancer, across nine Pacific Island Countries

Nationwide

Rotaract Oceania is proud to announce #moveforGECAF to mark the 100th anniversary of Rotary in Australia, New Zealand and around the Pacific. Rotaract Oceania is inviting you to take part in 100 days of #MoveForGECAF and engage in challenges designed to get you moving and raise awareness and funds for Rotary Give Every Child A Future.

Rotaract Oceania is committed to flipping the Rotary narrative, and raising awareness and funds for Rotary projects that we are passionate about, right here in the South Pacific. To celebrate Rotary’s 100th birthday in the Oceania region, GECAF is committed to vaccinating 100,000 children and adolescent girls in 9 countries across the Pacific to protect against Rotavirus, HPV, and Pneumococcal disease. (Nauru, Tuvalu, Samoa, Vanuatu, Tonga, Niue, Cook Islands, Kiribati and Tokelau.)

Pneumococcal pneumonia, meningitis and diarrhea are the leading causes of death in children under 5 years of age in many of the poorest, and the most inaccessible communities within the Pacific, while cervical cancer continues to threaten the lives of Pacific Island Women at disproportionately high rates. Rotary and UNICEF are partnering to vaccinate 100,000 children and women over 3 years to bring these life-saving vaccines to where they are needed most. GECAF aims to work with local governments to strengthen local health systems and to develop and implement immunization programs to ensure the sustainable delivery of vaccines for generations to come.

A donation of just AU$45 fully vaccinates 1 child from all 3 diseases and helps to purchase necessary supplies, provide education and support the functioning of GECAF for years to come.
