Gone Farr too soon

Tony Farr, a loving husband to Melissa, a special father to Garry, Mathew & Hollie, a doting Poppa to Willow & Oliver, a treasured son of Carol & Gary, a precious brother of Donna, and an adored Uncle, and loyal friend to so many… Tony was taken from us well before any of us were ready to say goodbye.

After a challenging journey to get a diagnosis when Tony wasn’t well at all (although he hid it so well), it was one that wasn’t expected, and certainly one that no one wants to hear. The dirty C word. But Tony & Melissa are pragmatic, positive people, and Tony responded well to initial treatment. Life carried on and we all were so grateful.

No one expected in early 2022, when he arrived at the hospital with his wife by his side, for his next round of treatment, that he would be told there was nothing more they could do. The C had spread, to places that couldn’t be healed. Life was now limited and all about creating as many memories as possible. Soaking up the “lasts” of all the things he loved to do. And somehow he still managed to crack jokes and find the humour in things, even when those of us around him couldn’t. That was one of his many gifts, finding a way to laugh. We mustn’t forget that as we grieve. He wouldn’t want that.

Devastatingly, we have lost a special man, & now we must rally around his family & support them in every way we can, to honour Tony & those who made his life whole. I hope you can help Melissa & their family in the extremely difficult times ahead xxx
