Providing scholarships for students who have had income reduced due to COVID-19. Classes are in spinning, weaving, and other fibre crafts.
Auckland
COVID-19 has meant many creative people have found themselves with time on their hands but lack of funds to pursue further education in their desired craft.
The Handweavers and Spinners Guild offers a series of classes each year including spinning, weaving, felting, and woven tapestry.
Establishing a scholarship fund enables students on a reduced income the opportunity to attend a class and achieve their creative goals while enhancing their wellbeing.
Just imagine, that $5 you saved from not buying coffee or fish and chips could help someone gain a skill for life!
I am the administrator of the scholarship fund as well as a tutor at The Handweavers & Spinners Guild.
Money raised will go directly towards partial scholarships for students wanting to take classes at the Handweavers & Spinners Guild. Any funds not awarded in scholarships will be used to help cover costs of membership fees, equipment and craft supplies.
