““Because he has loved Me, therefore I will deliver him; I will set him securely on high, because he has known My name. He will call upon Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will rescue him and honor him. With a long life I will satisfy him And let him see My salvation.”” Psalms‬ ‭91:14-16‬ ‭

    Kindly pray with us:

    1) Healing from a new bacteria found today.

    2) For decisions we need to make with our doctors as we continue to help E recover faster.

    3) Financial provisions.

Thank you for praying with us. All glory and praise to our God who knows, comforts and loves us. God bless us all.

“The LORD is good, A stronghold in the day of trouble, And He knows those who take refuge in Him.” Nahum‬ ‭1:7‬ ‭

Sharing some updates on E. 💚

We are now on day 27 in the ICU.

We praise and thank God for the continued improvements with E. For sustaining him and our family.

And to all you who have joined us in prayer, thank you for your continued prayers for E. His wounds from the surgeries are healing well but there are still challenges. Some days he sleeps it off, other days he is interactive and engaging in conversation. Based on his vitals, doctors have tried to take him of the ventilator three times already, but brought him back because he is not yet able to manage.

Please pray with us that as he is complete relieved from the pain medications, his breathing will be much better. May our good Lord continue to heal him so can be taken off the ventilator and be transferred to a regular room.

Thank you for praying with us. May the Lord continue to protect you and your families.

    We believe in miracles. 🙏🏼💚🙏🏼

Dear family, friends and prayer partners. Thank you for your prayers.

We thank and praise God for keeping E safe throughout the 2 hours he was in surgery. He is now back in the ICU for monitoring.

*Trachostomy was successful. The Lord preserved his throat in-spite the many intubations he had gone through. There is no stenosis and he still has his voice.

*Gastrostomy was also successful. We now have a more secure feeding tube to be able to ensure we are able to give him proper nutrition and medications.

Thank you to all his doctors and nurses. His doctors say that as soon as E recovers and is stronger, the trach and peg can be removed.

Please continue to pray with us for:

    1. Protection from infections and complete recovery from the surgeries. (Minimal discomfort, stable heart rate and BP.)

    2. Our family to help E understand his present physical condition. Not to be discouraged and continue to believe that Jesus is with him and making him well.

    3. Our family to give E the best post-surgery care at home.

Thank you JESUS for your unfailing love and mercy. You alone are our living hope.

    We believe in miracles. 🙏🏻💚🙏🏻

      1 July 2020

Dear family, friends and prayer partners.

We realized how we may have stirred worry because of the urgent prayer requests for E the past weeks. We praise and thank God because HIS grace is enough to sustain us through all the challenges we encounter in taking care of E. “God is our refuge and strength, A very present help in trouble.” Psalms‬ ‭46:1‬

We all have our stories to tell on how God is writing the story of our family about this battle our 12 year old brave son is walking. (We will be having a teenager in December!) But we all look forward to hearing them from E himself one day soon. His courage and strength goes beyond his years. For a boy who knows and experienced the joys of childhood, he is steadily content with the changes he continues to go through. For E, his “new normal” began 4 years ago when he was just 8 years old. He never questioned us why he is sick this way or ever complained even if his recovery is taking him a long time. His favorite line is, “It’s ok, not now. When I am stronger.” This is the same for the activities he enjoys doing and the food he loves to eat.

While the world is going through a pandemic. Our crisis has been on-going since 2016. We will never get used to an emergency where would need to rush E to the hospital. And last Saturday was one of the those. Carrying E from the 3rd floor with an oxygen tank in tow because his oxygen level dropped to 86. This is due to the pulling of phlegm in his throat caused by a bacterial infection. After several more tests, doctors did not take long to say that he was not in a good condition. He continued to have laboured breathing and was not getting better. They had to intubate (again) and take him to the ICU.

Praise God, he is now stable. But still assisted with oxygen support. After more tests, they found a secondary infection. Ecolai. We don’t know how, but we thank God E is responding well to his medications.

We pray for his immediate and complete healing. Most especially for his throat so the airway will open up to be able to breath normally. Doctors say his throat is not yet fully healed from the previous intubations. (Has been in and out of the ICU 5 times from September last year to January this year.) He cannot have another intubation, his throat will not be able to take it any more.

We are committed to carry E through this journey. We hope and pray that you will continue to walk alongside us in prayer for:

    1. Stronger and deeper faith.

    2. Complete healing of E from stage 4 brain cancer. For his brain and spine to be clear from any tumor.

    3. Free form any sicknesses and infections because he is already immuno-compromised.

    4. Complete healing from infections and for his throat to help him breath normally.

    5. Physical strength to be able to walk again and sustain his monthly chemo protocols for the next 2 years.

    6. Mental, emotional and spiritual stability. To continue to be hopeful and not be discouraged of his current condition.

    7. Financial provisions. (We are still paying-off previous hospitalizations.)

    8. Wisdom for our doctors for future medical plans to help E heal and recover faster.

We sincerely thank you for all your love, concern and prayers. And if the Lord continues to touch your hearts to help E in his journey, you may share them through a donation to our Givealittle page.

We pray continued blessings and protection for you and your families. God bless us all.

“and He Himself bore our sins in His body on the cross, so that we might die to sin and live to righteousness; for by His wounds you were healed.” 1 Peter‬ ‭2:24‬ ‭

      1 March 2020

“Bless the LORD, O my soul, And all that is within me, bless His holy name. Bless the LORD, O my soul, And forget none of His benefits; Who pardons all your iniquities, Who heals all your diseases; Who redeems your life from the pit, Who crowns you with lovingkindness and compassion; Who satisfies your years with good things, So that your youth is renewed like the eagle.”

    ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭103:1-5‬

The past week has been challenging for E due to 3 days of being in and out of the ER due to difficulty in breathing. He would stabilize and be sent home. But he was growing weaker and would say things that were off topic. He even thought I was his teacher. After hours of observation, he was admitted to ensure he does not get dehydrated and to check possible causes for the obstruction in his airway.

While being confined, we continued to observe memory lapses and inconsistent thought processing. We were worried that it was a form of seizure. But his neuro-doctor assured us that it is not, his mind is affected by fatigue due to lack of good sleep as well. For now, they need him to rest , go through pulmonary therapy and a complete balance for his nutrition.

On the third day of confinement, he started having labored breathing in the afternoon. Doctors tried to relieve him by suctioning to decongest his lungs but oxygen level continued to drop. Due to the urgency, the emergency code team were in his room to intubate and hook him up on the ventilator then immediately transferred him to the PICU. Oxygen level was stabilized but heart rate and blood pressure were still high.

After running several tests, results showed a very high level of bacterial infection affected his lungs and eventually caused his pneumonia. We thank God for our team of doctors and nurses for being very vigilant in finding the best way to arrest and heal the infection.

From our family meeting with our doctors, we were warned of the urgency for the after-care of E. Since he is immuno-compromised, he cannot afford these infections and frequent trips to the hospital, much more the PICU. He is still recovering from his admissions back in September for seizures, brain surgery, respiratory infection and continuous chemo. And even if almost all his stats are almost always normal, his over-all health is not yet fully recovered. At the moment, his chemo treatment had to be cut short because he is still too weak. He resumes next month. He is also off the ventilator and we hope he can be transferred to a regular room soon.

Then in two weeks, a peg will be temporarily placed on his stomach to help us give him complete meals and give his medications properly. Right now, his nutrition is key and this is the most immediate action we need to take to help E recover faster. As parents, adding another gadget to his body is not a very comfortable decision, but for now, this is the best way we can help him.

Please pray with us that God will continue to protect the heart and mind of E to be resilient through all these challenging phases he continues to go through into his journey of healing. Again, thank you for keeping E and our family in your prayers. And if the Lord touches your heart to give a little for support and help for our compounding expenses, we will be forever grateful.

God bless you and your families.

    We believe in miracles. 🙏🏼💗🙏🏻
