Nepia asks
Hi Charlotte, I'm concerned that this could get a lot worse before it gets better,
How about asking Alan to kindly drive his tiny home / caravan to the nearest council building for a public relations/photo shoot,
Therefore proving that he or his tiny home is, was or, never will be, Immovable
Just because it can be moved, or is legally allowed to be moved on the road,
Proves it is immovable,
Its the physical act of moving the tiny home, In my eyes ( and hopefully others in higher places) proves that he and his tiny home are in fact Totally Moveable.
Hopefully the case will not go any further

I'm surprised MBIE has said this is a building. I had thought that MBIE Determination 2013/055 was pretty clear that to be a building it had to be immovable. Perhaps I misunderstood.
Good on you for taking this on - it needs to be sorted.
Charlotte
Thanks for your support. And yes, thats where MBIE has contradicted itself. Alan's caravan is mobile, can be moved quickly, is road legal. The issue is living permanantly is it. that seems to put anything into a building category if it is lived in fulltime.
Allan asks
Question is
Why has Alan advertised the property for sale, and when i alerted you to the sale, you knew nothing about it?
Charlotte
Hi Allan,
As I have already communicated to you via FB messenger Alan Dall's legal fees have not changed, and the donations made to this page will still be used for their intended purpose - to pay legal fees to Alan's Lawyer Peter Richardson. To clarify the "for sale" listing you saw, I did not initially know about it. Alan Dall without consulting me put his tiny house up on marketplace to judge its value and see what people would be interested to pay. He realises his mistake after I talked to him and has removed it. I can understand how this may have looked, however the need for donations has not changed, and remains valid.

Hi Charlotte. My name is Colin Wightman. I have read the dreadful determination made by MBIE. I build Tiny Houses and even though they will soon be code complied [to fit with the crazy world of red tape], I think it is disgraceful and unlawful that MBIE came to this decision in contravention of basic human rights. I am interested in part funding the action to the tune of $1000 to $2000 but I need to know the full facts surrounding why HDC took this action which is out of pattern for them. I am interested in using Alan's case in a media bash against Government for failing to legislate specifically for them, to embrace them as a housing solution at a time of a housing crisis.
I'm that incensed by Alan's case that I wrote to idiot Phil Twyford again today about this example and copied it to media with whom I can share many other rotten examples, albeit that Alan's is the worst I've seen so far.
Can I meet with Alan and can I please understand what stance and arguments Linwood Law will put up at District Court level.
Thank-you.
Colin Wightman
