Osteosarcoma is the most aggressive form of bone cancer in dogs.
Waikato
My best friend Buddy has been diagnosed with Osteosarcoma - an aggressive bone cancer.
To date our costs are $5550. We have been referred to a specialist oncologist in Auckland for further treatment which includes amputation of his left hind leg followed by chemotherapy.
Our first oncology appointment was on Thursday 18th April, which involved setation, CT scans, bone marrow biopsies and full blood work. We are waiting on official results from the radiologist and lab, but indications are that the cancer has not yet spread meaning Buddy will be a good candidate for amputation and chemotherapy. The cost associated with this treatment is approximately $10k.
Please help me to give Buddy every chance to fight this aggressive cancer. He loves everyone and everything and has been by my side through the hardest times in my life and brings a smile to the faces of everyone he meets. He is only 7 years old - far too young to be facing this battle.
I can't face a future without him, please help!

$1000 has been spent so far.
Oncology appointment is $230. At this stage I will have a clearer idea of costs.
If the target is exceeded I would like to send a small gift to each of our supporters as a thank you.
Extending campaign 16 July 2019
Buddy has adjusted amazingly to 3 legs and is gaining strength every day. He blitzed his first round of chemo, however unfortunately his white blood cell count was too low for his second round, so that has been postponed until the 22nd July. Buddy is so brave with all the blood tests, we are starting to have a little trouble with his veins as they've been poked and prodded so many times so it takes a few attempts to get blood. I am extending this campaign as we are still approx $2100 short for the remaining chemo treatments, plus I have borrowed another $2k to get us where we are today. I have so much love and gratitude to everyone who has helped / is helping us along this journey. Please check out #buddyscancerjourney on Instagram for lots of photos, videos and more regular updates
