Canterbury
In the remote villages high in the Andes, people battling the harsh climate often struggle to feed themselves and their families. Poverty is high and growing season is short due to the altitude and weather conditions in the mountains, so food is often scarce.
In January 2018 I will be travelling to Peru with a group called Reach Out volunteers. Our main project will be building sustainable greenhouses in the Misminay community so that families can enjoy fresh fruits and vegetables all year round. In addition to this we will be lucky enough to gain some amazing experiences including hiking the Incan trail to Machu Picchu and exploring the neighbouring country of Bolivia.

I will be paying for my own flights and insurance for this journey. Any money raised will go towards resources for the project such as building materials, soil, fruit and vegetable seeds as well as my own food and accommodation while on the trip. Any extra funds raised will be donated to the Mismanay community to help keep our projects running for years to come.
