We don't have a lot of time to save up money before I run the risk of being forced to leave my home!
Wellington
Hi, my name is Cam. Nearly 3 years ago I packed up all my bags and moved to New Zealand to be with my partner, Nic, who I've been with wince the beginning of 2015. We've been through a lot together, 3 birthdays each, 3 Christmases, 3 years of dealing with immigration and all the paperwork involved with me staying here in New Zealand.
About a week ago I was just told that in the next couple of months, I must go for residency because there was apparently a limit on how many of the same visa I could apply for. No warning, no heads up, just a phone call from immigration saying "you'll be lucky if you even get THIS visa." The immigration officer told me it would even be wise to look into getting an adviser but we can't really afford any of this, the visa included which is a wopping $1,250 NZD. An adviser can be $2000+ dollars to help us go through the 9 month process for residency and they would help us understand how and what we need to do in order to successfully complete a residency visa application.
I lost my job because of complications with the last visa and haven't been able to get rehired. My partner works as much as he can but we don't have the time to save up enough money for any of this. When my current visa gets accepted, I'll have all of maybe 2 months to get the money together.
Please please help me stay in New Zealand. This has become my new home and I love it so so much. I've settled down with my partner and I've grown so accustomed to being here. It would absolutely break my heart to have all of our progress together has a couple get thrown out of the window because we couldn't afford to have me stay here.
Thank you for reading.
Any and all funds will go into the visa and a possible immigration adviser if we can get enough. I don't expect to have any but any surplus would go into savings just in case any other immigration problems arise.
